Michael Pierce, Chief Executive Officer
Michael Pierce earned his Undergraduate and Masters of Engineering from UT and an MBA with a Finance concentration from ETSU. He is a Board Certified Fellow of the America College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Pierce has been recognized as both a Hospital and Home Health Administrator of the year by his Association.
Mr. Pierce joined the Corpus Christi community in 2014 and enjoys an active coastal lifestyle including golf, beach, music and martial arts. His passion in ensuring compassionate quality patient care.
Aleks Borresen, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Borresen received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed his residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Borresen serves as the medical director for Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital and sees patients with a wide variety of conditions requiring inpatient rehabilitation services. His primary focus is on improving patient quality of life, mobility, and independence in the setting of life changing illness or injury.
He specializes in treating a wide variety of conditions including spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic conditions (fractures, joint replacements), amputations, critical illness, myopathy, debility, burns, and other neurologic conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and ALS.
Silke Parker, Chief Nursing Officer
Silke has been with CCRH since 2013. She has 11 years of supervisory, management and director role experience, which brings competence and clarity to the nursing team.
Her passionate care for patients is shown throughout the nursing staff she directs.
In her spare time Silke enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Nabila Chaudhri Martinez, Director of Pharmacy
Nabila is passionate about using her pharmaceutical knowledge to assist the medical staff at the Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital in ensuring the best patient outcomes. She has both retail and clinical experience.
Nabila graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of General Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. After, she earned her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy in 2020.
When not working, Nabila enjoys spending her free time doing CrossFit with her husband or relaxing with her dog and two cats.
Leticia Morales, Director of Therapy Operations
Leticia is perfectly suited for her role as Director of Therapy because loves helping people and seeing them succeed with therapeutic intervention. She says, “It’s the best feeling in the world.”
A speech language pathologist, Leticia is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Having practiced in the field for several years, she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence and is a certified Vital Stim provider. She earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in communication science disorders from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
Prior to her current role, Leticia served as a full-time speech language pathologist for the hospital. Now, she enjoys having an overall impact on the therapy department through her management position.
Leticia is originally from Falfurrias, Texas. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family at the beach or floating on the Frio River.
Tiffany Rigby, Director of Patient Outcomes
Tiffany is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 12 years of experience in the medical field. She began her career as a medical assistant and, driven by passion for patient care, advanced to become a registered nurse. Over the years, Tiffany has worked in a variety of clinical settings, gaining experience and honing her leadership skills.
In 2022, Tiffany joined Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital, initially serving as a night shift floor nurse. Her strong leadership abilities and commitment to qualify care quickly earned her the role of House Supervisor. Her expertise and drive for continuous improvement led to subsequent promotion to Nurse Manager, where she successfully led nursing teams and enhanced patient care delivery.
Currently, as the Director of Patient Outcomes and Case management, Tiffany oversees the strategies that ensure optimal patient outcomes and promotes a culture of patient-centered care. Tiffany’s career is characterized by a deep commitment to the well-being of her patients, strong leadership and a focus on achieving positive, measurable results in healthcare.
Brenda Segura, Director of Marketing and Business Development
Born and raised in Roma, Texas a small border town in the Rio Grande Valley, Brenda grew up with a passion for helping others. She started her healthcare career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist providing critical respiratory care within acute care settings. She spent years working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver lifesaving respiratory support to critically ill patients.
Beyond the walls of the hospital, Brenda expanded her professional impact by joining an organ procurement organization, where she played a vital role in bridging the gap between donors and recipients. Brenda joined CCRH in 2014 as a Clinical Liaison and moved up the career ladder by become a Senior Clinical Liaison and now the Director of Marketing and Business Development.
Driven by a passion for healthcare and advocacy, Brenda combines technical expertise with a compassionate approach, ensuring that each patient encounter is handled with the utmost care and respect.
Brenda holds an associate degree in respiratory therapy, a Bachelor of Art in Spanish and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management. She is currently working on her doctoral degree in Healthcare Administration and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Amanda Smith, Director of Compliance
Amanda brings over 15 years of experience in the medical industry starting as a Radiology Tech then becoming a Cardiac Registered Nurse. She brings passion and commitment to her work, upholding the highest compliance standards and contributing to the success of our mission.
She originally started in the Marketing Department at Corpus Christi Rehab Hospital and soon was promoted to the Director of Compliance. She graduated from Del Mar College with two degrees, an Associates degree of Arts in Registered Nursing and a degree in Applied Science in Registered Nursing.
When not working, Amanda enjoys family time and being outdoors.
Dave Hoepker, Director of Facilities Management
Dave takes pride in ensuring the physical components of the hospital are well maintained and operating effectively.
He brings more than 35 years of commercial facilities and construction management experience to his role, with 20 years in the health care facilities. He also has served in the U.S. Army as a plumbing and water treatment specialist.
Dave earned an associate degree in business management from Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wis.
When not working, Dave enjoys ocean living.
Soheila Mohsenzadeh, HIM Manager
Soheila came to the United States in 2000 and graduated from Del Mar College in 2013. She has worked in health information management as a medical coder then as a HIM coordinator for 10 years. Last year, Soheila returned to Del Mar College and graduated in August 2024 with her RHIT.
Soheila is happily married. She has a 16 year old daughter in high school and a step daughter that lives in San Antonio working as a nurse.
Lori Frank, Human Resource Manager
Lori is passionate about helping staff whenever possible. She brings over 15 years of human resources experience to Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital. Lori is a graduated of Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Go Islanders!
In Lori’s spare time she enjoys spending time with family, running, sailing, and traveling.
Nia Gonzalez, Administrative Assistant
Nia Gonzalez has worked in this facility for 4 years first as a receptionist and moved up to be the administrative assistant. She is currently a student at Del Mar College studying to be an LVN. She is very compassionate and loves to help the patients and staff in any way possible.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, especially with her one-year old daughter and being by the ocean.
